Executive Search  |  Replacing the CEO of an innovative scale up company

In competition with some of the global leading executive search firms, we were asked by one of the investors to pitch for the CEO position for an innovative scale up company to replace the current CEO. After the final decision of the STAK Board was made to retain us for the search we met up with all the relevant key stakeholders and investors to get a better understanding of the strategic goals, people, culture, challenges and opportunities of the company and to discuss and further define the CEO profile.

Our search strategy was to identify potential candidates with a technical engineering background combined with international business leadership experience gained at some of the leading MNC’s in the oil & gas, energy sector. After 6 weeks we presented the short list with strong, qualified candidates. The chosen candidate was found in Paris, France through a referral of an international CEO of an oil company. This candidate’s personality, competencies, motivation, presentation as experience was according to all the board members the best fit and match for the company. The successful candidate started his career at the leading oil company in The Netherlands, progressed into strategy consulting with one of the global leading firms and has been CEO of a start-up company in the renewables energy.
